Deagan's First Soccer Game

Sweet, sweet boy all excited for his game.
The team line up, little pint size squirts:)
Warming up, getting his game face on.
So happy to be apart of things
Deagan taking the ball away from the red team. (p.s.- the girl to his left behind him bear hugged him during the game and brought him right to the ground. It was because he was running away with the ball and she wanted it... but we told him she wasn't being mean she was just trying to give him a hug:)

Olivia the Super Soccer Player

So this season Olivia has taken a little bit longer to break out of her shell at soccer. Partly I think it's because Jeff and I are not coaching. And she's really tired after being at school all day everyday, and some nights soccer doesn't start until 7 (she normally goes to bed at 7:30). And then finally because her coach is a not so warm and fuzzy man. He's a little rough around the edges to be coaching kindergartners, but oh well.
Back to the story at hand.
Last night at her game she finally had the boost she needed to give her the confidence that she IS good and she CAN do it! She was a super star and had TWO, count 'em TWO break away goals where she took it all the way down the field to score on her own:) She was beaming with pride and my little soccer lover (instead of practice hater) came alive once again! It's so nice to see her smile and be SOOO proud of herself and love what she's doing!

My Wonderful Husband

Even though he's half way across the country, he still remembers the little things to make me feel special!
I got a call on Saturday telling me to go to his favorite jewelry store to pick up a present. When I got there they said "go ahead and pick, anything you'd like." Last summer I started a Pandora bracelet and I've been slowly building my collection. It's a sophisticated charm bracelet of sorts, where each charm has a special meaning. I have seven so far.
Anyway, I was walking around looking at all of the charms trying to decide which one I wanted, and I picked this one. I thought it was a frog prince, so I got it in honor of Jeffery. But while they were packaging it up, they told me it was the queen bee. Fitting, of course! It's got a perfect fat little momma belly like me and after all- it is Mother's Day- and I am the queen bee:)

Me and My Babies
Four Generations... My Grandmother, My Mother, My Midget(s) and Me
Deagan with the baby kitten

Today we had a wonderfully relaxing day over at my mom's house. She had us over, along with my grandparents, for lunch. It was nice to be able to sit and relax and not have to do a thing;) The kids had a great time too. They got to play with the latest baby kitten, take a few quad rides with poppie and generally relax. It was a nice Mother's Day:)

19 Days

19 Days to go. 19. Not months, not weeks, days.... 2 doctors appointments, 2 soccer games, one kindergarten music show, one birthday party, another soccer practice and then Jeff comes home for one last weekend as a family of four. Then just like that, we'll be a party of five:)
We've waited so long, yet it's actually gone by SUPER fast. The whole thing. Such an easy pregnancy. Let's hope it's an easy baby. Everyone keeps asking me, "Are you going to miss being pregnant?" Initially, I thought yes, I will. But you can't help but feel huge and miserable during the last few weeks... and that kind of spoils the warm fuzzies of being pregnant. So no, I don't think I'll miss being prego. Sure, I LOVE it. I really love being pregnant. It's one of the times in your life where people CELEBRATE how big you get and embrace your chunky thighs. You can get a double scoop of ice cream and proudly walk down the street with it, and people SMILE at you instead of give you a little scorn look. Heck and this time, I'm NOT EVEN craving the bad stuff. It's sad, I could justify all of the bad stuff and shove it in left and right... but I don't even want it most of the time. I crave salad. WHAT? Yes, salad (minus the lettuce of course). And potatoes. Specifically hash browns. Salty, crispy hash browns. Preferably in the patty form, with lots of salt. I guess that is my weakness, potatoes. I've only gained about 20 pounds, so hopefully 8 of that will be baby and then the last 12 will come off VERY QUICKLY and then I can concentrate on the other 30 I wanted to loose before getting pregnant;)
Ok, enough babble, 19 days! Just 19 days!
(14 until Jeff comes home)

Sent from his iphone, driving a boat for class off the coast of Miami.... livin' the hard life;)

05.05.09 First Sprinkler of the Season

Today while shopping at Home Depot with Deagan, he conned me into buying a new sprinkler for the kids. Well the coil hose I also bought (figuring it would be nice and easy to use- not so much) didn't provide enough power to make it rotate. So it was a mini-sprinkler of sorts. Either way they LOVED it. 65 degrees.... sure that's warm enough for a sprinkler in the front yard... followed by a nice warm 45 minute long bath!!!!!

05.04.09 Olivia's Soccer Game

These are some pictures of Olivia's first soccer game of the season. She did very well. Her and Lillia got a breakaway right off the start and brought the ball all the way down for Lillia to score:) What fun!

A Brother/Sister Convo

This evening both Deagan and Olivia were bickering over this doll stroller (yes mom, we do need another one).
Olivia was refusing to share with Deagan, despite my intentions to convince her that she really wanted to share without having to be TOLD to share with him!...

So Deagan says, "Sissy where are you getting this attitude?"
She says, "Mind your own business Deagan!"
He says, "It must be from school! Cuz that's where I get mine!"
then he pauses, quietly thinks for a second and says, "or maybe it's from me. I don't know, just give me the stroller!"

I was in the kitchen loading the dishwasher laughing hysterically at my children analyzing each other's attitudes and Deagan's self realization that maybe because he refuses to share with her most of the time, that maybe, just maybe- that's why she's refusing to share with him! (I eventually took it away from both of them because they couldn't come to an agreement of possession).

Super Saturday

Today the kids and I had a fantastic super Saturday!
We started with Deagan's soccer. It was a great day for him. He LOVED it and was completely into it! He did so well, it's fun to see him in sports and having a good time. They both got their team shirts this week and they are BOTH purple! Which they thought was super cool.

Then after soccer we went to baby Stephanie's first birthday party (our neighbor). They had it at an indoor go-cart/ video game place. The kids just loved it! They got to drive the go carts, play video games and win tickets that they cashed in for prizes. Deagan found a sponge bob game where he won over 300 tickets! It was his lucky day! I'll post pictures soon.

We all came home and took a nap, which was lovely. Then we woke up at 6pm and went to a movie. We saw the Disney Earth movie. It worked out well that they were a little tired and 'in the zone' as to completely pay attention. They were enthralled in this movie. Completely fascinated with the big screen and learning about the animals. They've been really into science lately and the Earth and learning how the world works. Their main lesson this time was about the circle of life, the hunters and the hunted. And even though it's sad when one animal has to die, it's essential for the other to live. They completely got it and really took it all in!

They didn't get to bed until almost 10pm tonight, but what a great day we had together:)

4.28.2009 Deagan Saves the Worms

Last night we had a pretty heavy rain and the ground was soaked. Well each time that happens we end up with a ton of worms on our driveway, in the culdesac and in the crack of our garage where the garage door meets the cement. Deagan can't help but save them, but he also doesn't like to touch them. We have to find "tools" to assist us in saving the worms. Today we used a straw from a juice box and his mini wagon. We walked around the culdesac and picked up all of the worms that were going to drown in the puddles or get squished by cars. You'll be happy to know that we placed them all safely in our garden:)

Deagan and his proud collection of worms!
These are ALL of the worms he 'saved' from certain death in the culdesac:)

4.21.2009 Wasting Time Being Silly

Last Tuesday my mom was taking the kids for me so I could go on my hospital tour. We were waiting in her parking lot at work and this is what we were doing...

Deagan's Soccer

Last Saturday, Deagan had his first soccer practice. He's in a 3-4 year old league. He was SO excited to go, because he's been watching Olivia for a year now and always wanted to play on his own. He has great coaches! It's a husband/wife duo and they have two kids on the team as well. The husband picked up real quick that Deagan needed some competition to stay interested, so he kept trying to do silly things like take his ball away or say "I can score a goal faster than you!" It drove Deagan's competitive edge and helped him really get into it. His games should be fun to watch:) I adore the little midget leagues, they are completely into it one second and then wandering way picking flowers another!

Look at those hands! HA!

35 week belly

One Month to Go!

As of yesterday, there is only ONE MONTH to go until this sweet little bundle arrives!
And boy are we ready! I've been 'nesting' like a crazy woman lately. Keeping on top of the house chores like you wouldn't imagine;) (well except for the whole scrubbing with chemicals thing, yeah, that's not on my list AT ALL). But I am keeping things orderly. I've got just about everything I need for the baby. I just ordered the "coming home" outfits last week and they should be here by the end of the week. A whole set in pink and a whole set in blue. I figure I'll return the other, you know I don't like most of the gender neutral clothing (yellow, green, blah). So I just went for it and got what I wanted. The other two both came home in these adorable babyGap outfits, so I couldn't deviate from them;)
I'm starting to feel huge. And when I say huge, I mean MASSIVE. It's cute to be 'plump' when you have a baby, but boy am I looking forward to being able to exercise again! Right now I get winded going up the stairs. Deagan and I were on a really good kick of going for a walk almost everyday. But for the first time today, I had to tell him to turn around about 1/3 of the way into it because I just felt horrible. But he was completely understanding saying, "mommy should we sit and take a rest?" He's so sweet.
Both of the kids have been amazing troopers! I try my best not to blame anything that I can't do on 'the baby' or let them see that I'm restricted and then blame it on the baby. They have been great. They can sense when I'm tired and they know when they can take advantage of me and my tiredness... but they also LOVE to help me. They'll run upstairs 2-3 times in the evening to grab things for me because they know I just can't do the stairs:) And Olivia loves to bring me my shoes and help Deagan with his shoes so that I don't have to bend down and get them!
The baby has been a welcome distraction to having Jeff gone too. It gives them something to focus on and talk about. And it also gives them a goal of sorts, because they know Daddy will get to come home the weekend before we have the baby.
I just can't wait for this summer. Having all three of them home and being able to enjoy that time together! (and I'm totally petrified at the same time because they severely outnumber me)!
I'm sure this last month will FLY by!

Mega Picture Update for the month of April

Yes, I know I've been stingy with the pictures lately! Unless I can take it with my phone and post it immediately, it just doesn't happen right now. I recently got a 'normal pocket camera' and have been toting it around. It doesn't take pictures near the quality of the bulky digital SLR, but it sure is convenient to have:) And I'm finding myself taking more pictures because I can take it more places.
Well after spending an HOUR AND A HALF uploading a MONTH'S worth of photos... I hope you enjoy:)

4.19.09 Grandma's Bday Party

Sunday we had a family birthday party for my grandma:) It was a nice relaxing time. Deagan loved playing on their swing (my camera died, all the pics are on my mom's camera). Olivia enjoyed relaxing inside after a LONG babyshower weekend.
