Here We Go Again!

Seriously, could my kids please stop getting sick and catching every little thing that goes around!
Olivia has been teething her two year molars (finally) the past two weeks. She's had a fever at night and runny nose and a little cough- no big deal right, it's just teething it will pass.

Deagan is also teething (yes, his first two teeth still haven't made an appearance). So he has a little nasal drip and cough. No big deal, right?

WRONG! Not only do I have two teethers, I have two sick teethers that just happened to catch a bug while their immune systems were down from teething. Last night Olivia kept complaining that her ear hurt. We just blew it off, figured she'd watched the Elmo Goes to the Doctor movie too many times and was trying to get some yummy medicine out of us. Well she woke up twice last night screaming about her ear.

So this morning I decided to take them in, the cough wasn't bothering us, but the ear might and it's the weekend so better now than urgent care later.

Well good thing I did because WHAMMO two kids with double ear infections- yet again. And not only does Olivia have a double, but she also ruptured one of her eardrums. And the puss filled fluid leaked out and sealed in the form of a postule over her ear- OUCH! Dr. Carter was a little shocked that she wasn't screaming her head off. And that Deagan, once again, didn't show any signs of anything. Weird kid!

So they've got a cold, sore throat, double ear infections, and 'tight chest' in which they are both wheezing. YUCK! So they both are on an oral steroid, oral antibiotics and wonderful breathing treatments every three hours.
Oh wait? I'm sorry did you have any plans for this weekend, well not anymore.
Our doctor was joking that she'd hire me an at home nurse to help this weekend! HA! I need it, because I'm getting sick now too!

But perhaps the best part of the story is that they both had to get two shots each. One antibiotic, one steroid. And they said that's the worse combination that they give in their office as far as ouchies go. So here I am, by myself, trying to carry out two screaming kids who just got poked twice. The waiting room full of people had a nice laugh at that one. And Olivia still won't walk three hours later- she says it's burning (apparently she inherited that from her momma as a baby). And she tries to walk but kind of drags herself along crippled. (It's cute to watch, but oh so sad for her). She was excited to get shots at first, because Elmo gets them in the movie. However, she had no idea what they really were and we'll see if she watches that movie anymore!

So here we go again, battling sickness. It's going to be a great weekend too, sunny highs in the low 70s. But we'll be here, having a movie marathon. Let's just hope this all clears up
soon:)
