Jeff's sister, Melissa, and her kids Zack and Alexis came down for a long weekend visit. (WE MISS YOU RANDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). We had a really great time. Olivia adores her cousins so much and wants to move back to Michigan tomorrow. She was so well behaved and in pure bliss the whole time. She was Zachary's little shadow, following him everywhere and making sure she had tabs on him at all times. And Alexis was like the big sister she wishes she had! Olivia made her play with the baby dolls and take them shopping...over-and-over-and-over. And Deagan, well he's just little Mr. tag along. He'll go anywhere and do anything as long as you let him in on the action. He's such an easy going baby. Always smiling, always flirting!
We went to the Gulf Island's Waterpark in Gulfport, Mississippi. Amazingly it was totally missed by Katrina. It's a small park, but great for families and young kids. We enjoyed basking in the sun (getting tans and a little burnt). It was their first weekend being open and it wasn't crowded at all. Olivia got her first taste of the joy of waterslides too:)
Then we went to Global Wildlife Safari, about an hour away. You ride on a little covered wagon style tractor-pulled train. And you get to see all of the animals, touch the big ones and feed them all. Specially when you buy the biggest sack of feed that they offer!!!!!!! ;) HAHA! We had no idea it was like 50 pounds- and were so embarrassed when they brought it up to us! But we ended up using it all, there were some fat bellied animals after we were through.
I got to feed a giraffe too! It was so breathtaking to be that close to such an amazing animal!
Sadly our fun filled trip had to come to an end:( Olivia cried on the way home from the airport, repeating, "I miss my cousins, I love my cousins!" It is so much fun to be with them, but so sad to know that it will be a few months before we see them again!
