The Precious Cargo Has Arrived!

JEFF IS HOME JEFF IS HOME JEFF IS HOME. He is safe and sound after a LONG four months and a LONGER 3+ day plane excursion to get back. He was unable to come up to Michigan right away, so we came down and SURPRISED HIM. He had no idea we were coming:) He was actually getting sad at the fact that I pretended we weren't able to come down...silly me, I had him going! HA!
So the kids and I came down on Wednesday and are staying until Tuesday. Jeff was supposed to get back on Thursday, but it was delayed a little until Friday. We stayed at Angies house and caught up with her and the kids. Olivia was in heaven with Maddy. That's her element and she was free again. We miss it. We do!
Friday morning the kids woke up and were
not feeling good. Olivia had a raging fever, cough, stuffy nose and so on. They'd both had a cough for a few weeks, but I just thought it was the changing of the seasons or something. But when her fever came I knew I had to take her in. So we went to an Urgent Care in Slidell (been there before) so all three of us could be treated. Well we tested positive for Strep Throat!!!!! YUCK. Well because of our little trip to the urgent care, we missed Jeff's landing on the runway and had to coordinate with Peter to meet him at the command. We hid up in one of the offices....for an HOUR. Finally, Peter convinced him that he needed to go upstairs, and there we were. He was shocked. Relieved, I think. He was so sad that he couldn't get ahold of me when he landed and had no one there for his homecoming, that when he saw us, it was just perfect. Olivia was bawling, so sad, yet so happy to finally have her daddy home. Deagan went up to him and put up his arms asking to be picked up, then leaned in for a big kiss- it was more than we could have hoped for. It was wonderful:)
So now we are just hanging out in our hotel. Olivia is sick as ever. We think she has some tummy virus with her strep. She's spiking 103+ fevers two-three times a day. Maybe the flu? She has vomiting and the big D. Who knows. She's a trooper though! We just take a nice break or nap when the fever comes and relax, but once it's gone, she's ready to go again! Strong little girl! I think she's just so happy to have HER daddy back that she won't let anything get in her way. She's been attached to his hip since the moment he walked in that door. She loves being carried, and he's just the man to do it. She's been talking a mile a minute to him about everything too. It fills my heart with joy to see them together again. And Deagan too. He remembered his daddy clear as day, and has his perfect guy back. He loves to be rough housed and tossed around!
Tomorrow we hope to go to the zoo- we'll see how the morning goes.
Hope all is well and know that our man is home safe:)
